How To Remove Duplicate Entry On The XP Boot Menu
If you've tried to install XP but failed to finish due to some reasons (like power failure) it's likely that your XP boot menu will have another choice to boot, giving you 30 seconds to choose before it will boot the default. This won't harm your system but of course you don't want to sacrifice adding another 30 seconds on the boot times of your computer to boot.
Luckily, there is an easy way to remove duplicate boot entries on your computer. When i say easy, it just involve a few mouse clicks. Here's how:
1. Right click "My Computer" then click Properties
2. Then click the "Advanced" tab
3. Under "Startup and Recovery" click Settings
4. A new window will appear, then just uncheck the option "Time to display list of operating systems:"
5. Then close all the windows you've just opened and reboot your computer
Your system should boot without giving you choices of booting other operating system which will result a 30 seconds faster than with a boot options during boot times.
